You can obtain a copy of the publication from the JPO’s URL at

(1) For a patent:

Select “B” in the kind box, and enter the publication number in the document number box. The publication number should be HXX-XXXXXX or 200X-XXXXXX. Then, click the “Search” button at the bottom center. Finally, click the blue underlined number, JP, 0X-XXXXXX,B, and you will find the data.

(2) For a patent application:

Select “A” in the kind box, and enter the publication number in the document number box. The publication No. should be HXX-XXXXXX or 200X-XXXXXX. Then, click the “Search” button at the bottom center. Finally, click the blue underlined number, JP,0X-XXXXXX,A, and you will find the data.

The JPO started to provide electronic data for applications filed on or after January 1990 (H02).
